My name is Adriana. I am a short Latina who is always getting confused for a Philipina. Born and raised in Los Angeles California with parents from El Salvador, I consider myself part Salvi, part Cali.
I have been dancing different styles of dance since I was 7 years old, but have a huge passion for Hip-Hop. I dance with two crews : Soul Of Cali and the Zulu Maniacs. Though I train at at many dance studios, I consider Millennium Dance Complex my second home.
My teaching experience includes volunteer work for STAR summer camp as well as working as a dance counselor at World Groove summer camp in Santa Monica. Currently I am assistant coach for Soul of Cali Kid's Dance Club.
Besides dancing, I was a girl scout for 10 years, love to swim and spend time with family and friends. I am a person who is always learning something new and wanting to grow not just as a dancer, but as a person.
Soul of Cali is a youth dance community, dedicated to preserving passion through genuine companionship.
As my mother watched “Dirty Dancing” in the movie theater, I made my dance debut with a kick in the womb. Raised as a ballerina, I cherish memories of performing full length ballets with the Evergreen City Ballet, directed by Wade Walthall. At age 16, the liveliness of the Seattle Hip-Hop scene drew me in and inspired me to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the music and dance industry. After moving to Los Angeles, I experienced touring China, as a dancer for Pop Star Jay Chou, training in New York City at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and dancing as a leading futuristic lady in Steve Aoki and Waka Flocka’s music video, “Rage the Night Away.” In 2012 an awesome group of kids in North Hollywood and myself came together to create “Soul of Cali” a positive environment for youth to train, create, and discover personal style from the inside out. SOC is now available to youth through the city of Santa Monica. Professionally, I have arrived at a magical crossroad between dance education and Early Childhood Education. My experience as a dance atelierista at Maple Tree Academy, a Reggio based Preschool, fused with extensive dance experience, has called me to explore writing and designing original dance adventures for young children. My “Save the World” dance along for kids produced by Mega Mace has been translated into several languages and broadcasted by Cyberobics through out Europe. While continuing to fulfill my passion for teaching, I am embarking on my own journey into motherhood and am thrilled to be working on my first Children’s book.
